Hero in Training [HiT]
hello Hero's ok so from now on we will have HiT members who want to join our Clan.
I've decided that I feel like I want to manage them and help them get to there goal.
I will manage all the HiT's see who should be wearing the tag, have a list of current HiT members and oversee what they do in general and their progress.
currently we have:
[HiT]aquablade
[HiT]intesityspeed
[HiT]Thanatos
[HIT]ddrox13
[Hit]Man
as the channel members. If you are in HiT and you aren't on the list come talk to me or I will find you first.
Now for expectations. A HiT is treated like a regular Hero same rules will apply to them in the channel and on the forums. And to become a Hero member you must have met the ranking of 1350+ in OU/UU/Ubers or 1300 in NU/LU. If you wish to ladder in another tier come speak to me and I can arrange that for you.
Anything else you wish too add or know you can reply below

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
HiT Members are not full on Hero members yet, so if we let them become Mods and Admins, it's sort of redundant. It's like letting an immigrant who has lived in the United States for 3 years run for Senate. They have to become a legal citizen and be around a certain amount of time to be aloud to do so. You see what I'm saying?Clare wrote:Discussion on allowing HIT Members to Hero+ or Positions of Power such as Moderator, Admins, Co-Leaders;

Yes, so if current members of Hero, such as Lasen do not meet the requirements by November 31st, 2012, will they removed as a moderator?

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
Tough question.
I myself have been somewhat against raising the rating requirement for the clan, mainly because rating doesn't necessarily show skill. Since people like Lasen and I are already mods, and we have already proved ourselves to be decent battlers and players, I don't think we should demote people for not having high ratings. I don't think we should demote players for low ladder rankings if they are already in the clan and in some sort of position of power, because they are in that position for a reason.
Yes if you are good at the game then it's logical to at least be able to get 1400 in something. The thing is people like Nuub, Seph, and myself either don't ladder often, spend a large amount of time just having fun and playing on alts, OR have difficulty laddering.
I understand that we want the clan to be much more competitive, but I like hero the way it is. it isn't a clan where people walts in and join, but it's also not one of those clans that is full of people with like 1600 in everything, and trying to get into one of those clans would lead you to being better than them anyways. It is a very nice middle ground, and I feel PO doesn't have many good middle ground clans. This one is definitely the best one I've found. We do a good job of being middle ground. We have higher standards than many clans, but we have HiT to help people reach those standards. Before I joined Hero, I was really bad at pokemon. I knew a lot, I just never really applied it. Being in Hero has taught me how to be a much better player, and has let me get to know a lot of people and learn new things. I didn't learn much being in other clans full of bad players, and I wouldn't be aloud in the higher up clans. I even got passed by Eon, grant it they have some good players, but most are bad.
I understand really good players wouldn't want to be in a clan with "noobs" and "scrubs", or a clan with lower requirements because "they are full of low rated idiots" or something, but I think it is their loss.
Keep in mind this is all just opinionated, do with it what you will~

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
Thank you for your input Crobat.
Obviously I want to try to find a happy medium where both members can feel comfortable without the pressure of laddering, and members who want to be competitive in the ladder. Of course I too believe that ladder numbers do not display absolute value of skill, they also display determination.
That being said, I feel as though those who haven't reached our own requirements and have been placed in HIT should help each other achieve the Hero requirement, otherwise many members are going to stay in HIT.

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
Clare dont you and me both believe that ranking is arse and doesn't really mean much.
Personally I am looking for a new way to recruit people that doesn't really rely on a ranking that doesn't even mean much at all. I still haven't found it but I hope I do.
Also I don't think we should demote people because their ranking isn't high enough

Yes you heard from me on the first day that I disliked the way people are looked upon with a ladder ranking. All players have different skills and it cannot be compared to a ranking in the ladder. However I want Hero to be considered competitive, casual and organized and the only want to bring competitive is if we place the ranking requirements for 1400+
Also, I was thinking about decreasing the HIT limit to 1100, I need some feedback obviously but I was considering doing so.
Also, no person will be demoted. Elections are the only way to demote members.

I might stick it to 1200 and just leave it consistent.

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
1200 it is. Anything below that is utterly not acceptable I think. 1200 is ridiclously easy to get.

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
I don't see why ranking should have anything to do with being a moderator. If they are around a lot, and do a good job keep them as mods, the mods don't have to be the elite players.
Also, Clare you should have the requirements vary by tier, as 1400 in OU is a lot different than 1400 in NU, LU and UU

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
That's why I changed the requirements to 1400 Ubers-OU-UU and 1300 LU-NU.
We can look at the requirements at UU-LU-NU and decrease them, if you see fit Warpstar.

1400 in UU is too high in my opinion, it should be 1350 or so.

Do you believe moderators like Lasen and Co-Leaders like Nuub should be placed in HIT if they do not meet the requirements, Warpstar?

No...they have been here for longer than most, people who have been here for a long time time should not be in HIT, its just disrespectful.

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
I find it disrespectful when people dick around all day and don't attempt to ladder/do anything with their time in Pokemon Online.
Also if I don't apply it to everyone, how can maintain equality? If you are an old player, then it should be a breeze to get the requirements.

Re: Hero in Training [HiT]
So what should be our happy medium? Allow all members to be Heros and only make new members HIT if they do not complete the requirements?

This shields Nuub and Lasen, however what about other members I mentioned in the list?
