Round 2 has officially begun, matchups:

[Hero]John Beton/Xclus Gaiven - Wifi OU vs [Hero]Afro Smash - Wifi NU
[Hero]Haar - Wifi LU vs [Hero]Mononokel - Wifi UU
Cloud7z - Wifi LU vs Fille/ Fille the [Hero] - Wifi UU

Due to the players failing to completing their match, [Hero]Monokel proceeded due to a coinflip.
All matches were randomly generated. Please play the tier on the left first, this is to avoid any possible disputes.

I Got 8 Gym Badges

If the first two matches result in a tie, this bonus round shall be played. Here, your team must match that of an Elite 4 member. This can be from any generation and any varitiation of their team (some E4 change their teams upon rematches), provided it is one that they use in an Elite 4 battle. Pokemon may be LVL 100 and custom movesets may be used. Even if your chosen team does not have the full 6 Pokemon, you must battle with the same quantity of Pokemon.

For balance issues, Lance's team of:
Gyrados, Dragonite, Kingdra, Aerodactyl, Dragonite
isbanned
(Note that only this particular team is banned, becuase this team is only present after Sevii and Lance has another team, his other team may be used.)

The item Focus Sash and the ability Sturdy are banned due to the low number of Pokemon capable of setting up entry hazards.

The use of Champion teams is banned, seriously, some of them are ridiculously OP.

Clauses for the bonus tier:

This explanation has been fairly confusing, so feel free to ask me and I can check whether or not your team is legal.

If you win your match, upload the logs to Pastebin and PM me the logs.

Please get your matches done by 10th March.

Do not emulate badges if not present. The badges must also be approved by the user who drew them unless you create your own badges. This is for the sake of not getting into trouble with Pokemon Online's League system.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what you mean with about the badge. Are you referencing the picture I used? If so I can remove that. If you were talking about the "I Got 8 Gym Badges" that was simply the name of the bonus tier (reference to the 8 gym badges required to challenge the Elite 4) but obviously that can be changed as well.

I actually only remembered to save the last log, but the first two matches went pretty much as expected. I won LU, he won UU.

I feel like I expressed myself poorly at the end of the match, so I'm gonna go ahead and clarify myself now.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't upset. It sucked to be counterteamed (though honestly I have to give props to mononokel for the prediction), but I had contingencies like scarf destiny bond for that kind of thing. And looking back I made a couple of dumb plays (sending in cofag at the wrong time, etc) that, had I managed better, could have made more of a difference than anything else. So I'm kinda just upset at myself. My main issue is with mononokel opting to use prankster liepard. Now, BEFORE EVERYONE POINTS OUT THAT HE DIDN"T ACTUALLY HAX ME OVER, I know that. I acknowledge that I lost due to my own errors and his choice to use Grimsley's team. I'm just disappointed that he chose to employ the luck-based mon in the first place. Had he not used it, I would have most likely won - I would have tricked him my scarf, locked him into a move, and proceeded to Fire Blast or sub/disable or both (+2 Foul Play crit did only 88% to chandy, so I doubt I would have died to that).

So that's my rant. Regardless of how I feel about it, Mononokel won without excessive hax and advances to round 3. I wish him good liepard-less luck in the future.

...besides, we're playing freaking pokemon. Crazier stuff happens.

I used Liepard because it was on the Team, not because I thought "Hey, this team has Liepard, let's abuse it!". I used this team because it had toxic spikes, which would have been the only chance against a fighting team, since I was only like 50%ish sure you would pick the ghost team, because I was close to going for the fighting team predicting you to predict me going for the ghost team (sounds complicated, but is really easy actually...)

Also, I did play poorly through all of the game, because I was so sure of my victory because of the type, for example I would have saved sharpedo until the end, because Special Sharpedo just demolishes the ghost tem. Thus I find it really unfair of you to be angry at me just because you forgot I had prankster to sub up. If I had taken the match seriously, it would not have gotten to the situation. I give props to you to counter certain threads, such as scarf Krookodile quite well, but I absolutely deny your accusation of abusing the Liepard. If you compare the dark-type Teams:

My chosen one:
Sharpedo / Scrafty / Krookodile / Drapion / Bisharp / Liepard

Grimsley's Rematch Team:
Honchcrow / Scrafty / Krookodile / Tyranitar / Bisharp / Houndoom

The pokemon that gave you the most trouble was Krookodile, which was present in this one too. Tyranitar pretty much demolishes most pokemon on the ghost team, too, pursuiting your only counter against krookodile. I could have gone for that team too, but you get worked up about the Liepard, which only won me the game because you made two horrible moves (1. Trying to trick me 2. Going for the substitute with Gengar). If I had really haxed you to death with liepard, I could have understood your anger, because going straight for the focus blast and maybe living a foul play would have given you a 75% chance of winning the match.

And even mentioning the crit on chandelure like "yeah that kinda came together with it" is just another try to put me into a bad light. I did not mention the confusion self hit of sharpedo during the whole match, where sharpedo, if he was alive, would have DEMOLISHED your whole team.

Sorry, but now I am upset. We both played poorly, and now you try to openly disgrace my use of a pokemon that was given because it was on the team.

I'm really sorry that's what you came away with, mononokel. Please understand that I am not trying to publicly disgrace you. I was merely attempting to clarify my messy statements at the end of our last match.

I tried to make it clear that in part I was just upset at myself for botching some key opportunities, and when I lost to prankster liepard (which, again, I admit was due to my own misplays) I made a few unsportsmanlike comments. I'd be lying if I said I was perfectly okay with your choice, but you won and that's that. I lost and this is me explaining my sentiment.

Anyway, good luck in future rounds dude Smile

Edit: I reread my own post and realized that saying "My main issue is with mononokel opting to use prankster liepard," sounds much worse than I intended. Sorry about that.

Yeah, I'm glad we could clear that up!

I guess I just hate prankster liepard itself more than anything else. But hey, it's pokemon. Hax happens. And stupidity happens. lol.
